This client took on a labour of love when she purchased this grand old lady. The 1890's villa had weathered over time, and while some period features were still beautifully preserved, a major renovation was definitely in order. The home is now the perfect blend of heritage details and modern, fresh finishes.

statement downsize
This home is almost totally unrecognisable from the cobweb-clad beachside bach it was when our client first purchased it. The client was downsizing in scale, but didn’t want to compromise on style. Kirsten Ford Design completely reimagined the space to create a home as a true reflection of its owner: modern, stylish, well travelled.

decor + design trends
design edit issue 15
Last month I was fortunate enough to attend Design + Decor in Melbourne. This is Australia's leading interiors event showcasing the latest interior products and furnishings from Australia, New Zealand and around the world.
What an amazing experience - the interior designer's equivalent of Disneyland!
So what were the four key trends I took away from the show?
sitting pretty | choosing the perfect sofa
grown up family home
new inspiration

One of the fun perks of my job is being invited to trade shows to view & experience the latest from suppliers. Urbis Design Day Pro was a fantastic day full of inspiration as suppliers showcased their furniture & showrooms. The perfect way to get the inside edge on new suppliers & the very latest offerings!

the green scene
design edit issue 7
With our love of nature and the great outdoors it's really no wonder that the hue of green is starting to trend in a big way in our interiors. And Pantone (the US colour gurus) have declared that foliage-based Kale Green (yes, it's not just a food trend!) will be one of the colours of the year for 2017.
